Bells Palsy and Facial Paralysis

Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat facial paralysis and Bells Palsy.  The earlier treatment commences after paralysis the better the prognosis. e.

Why Us?

My experience as a practitioner of cosmetic or facial rejuvenation acupuncture gives me an edge in various conditions affecting the facial muscles, nerves and overall function of their face. Regular treating the face and utilising facial motor points, sub-muscular needling, scalp acupuncture and facial cupping give me an effective framework to treat patients with neuromuscular facial conditions. The same techniques that are used to raise a saggy jowl or relax a furrowed brow can be used to treat a drooping eyelid (ptosis) due to stroke or Bell’s palsy. Conditions such as temporomandibular joint  syndrome(TMJ), trigeminal neuralgia are also treated in the clinic.

What to expect from treatment of Bells Palsy or Facial paralysis.

When treating cases as Bell’s palsy and Facial Paralysis, finding the root cause of the issue is paramount.  The first part involves the balancing of the organ-meridian system, followed by treatment face and scalp. This could be followed by  facial cupping and gua sha (Jade Massage Tool), depending on the needs of the patient. Facial cupping has several benefits which include relaxing tight facial muscles, moving out stagnant lymph, fluids, and toxins to enhance the body’s natural healing ability. It can also increase blood flow and circulation and strengthen the vascular integrity of the face.
