Back Pain and Lower Back Pain

Back Pain and Sciatica are regularly treated in the clinic with great success. Back pain can be different for everyone. The pain can radiate to different areas and be worse for sitting or standing. Pain that feels like it goes into the buttocks or sacrum is usually worse for sitting and treatment involves balancing the hips. Pain which radiates down the hamstring also involves the hip flexor muscles and can be worse for standing. Sometimes the pain radiates into the gluteal muscles on the front of the leg. All of these types of back pain are treated slightly differently but the pain is usually due to trigger points in the hips and lower back. Acupuncture is fantastically suited to treating back pain, as we can release these sore spots gently and without pain. Also, some of these muscles are very deep making them difficult and painful to massage.  Research suggest Acupuncture to be effective in treating back pain. I offer a money back guarantee if there is no improvement after two treatments.

Serious Cases

Most cases of lower back pain are suitable for acupuncture treatment. However, LBP may be due to more serious factors than muscle strain and sprain. This includes deformity of the vertebral column, abnormality of the internal organs and tumors. Acupuncture is not the best option in these cases. It's best to seek medical advice on these occasions. However, a patient may still use acupuncture for pain relief in those circumstances. It should not be the primary method of care, though.  As the clinical evidence for the benefits of acupuncture grows, acupuncture for LBP is receiving increased recognition and acceptance of both patients and professionals.
